PHOTOS: Drones light up night sky on Canada Day in Chilliwack

Festivities included soapbox derby, live music, parade and more

The city's first-ever drone show lit up the night sky during the Canada Day celebrations in Chilliwack on Monday, July 1.

The light show by Pixel Sky Animations capped off the activities at Exhibition field. Other entertainment included live music, activities for kids, food trucks, potato-sack races, obstacle courses and more.

Earlier in the day, people took in pancake breakfasts, free ice skating and swimming, free admission to the Chilliwack Museum and free movies at Cottonwood 4 Cinemas.

Up in the Columbia Valley, people attended 'Canada Day in the Valley' at the fire hall. This year's parade saw 22 entries, twice as many as last year. And, as always, kids and adults competed in the annual soapbox derby in the Columbia Valley.
