PHOTOS: Patriotic people come together for Canada Day celebrations in Chilliwack

Folks celebrated with pancakes, dancing, soapbox races and more in Chilliwack area

Chilliwack was filled with patriotism as people celebrated Canada Day throughout the city and beyond.

Folks danced to live music, ran through parkour obstacle courses and more on Saturday, July 1 at Townsend Park. The place was swarming with all sorts of activities, entertainment and food.

The events throughout town also included fundraiser pancake breakfasts, free swimming, free ice skating, and free admission to movies and the Chilliwack Museum.

Up in the Columbia Valley, there was a parade and soapbox races, plus games and activities.

The night ended with a surprise show by Christina Peck of Chilliwack who performed a fire hooping routine to the music of the Sardis Drumline; it replaced the fireworks show at Townsend Park.
